Public Man, Private Father

by Patricia E Bauer

"This young woman’s life was a constant reminder of the dignity and value of vulnerable people, a message delivered like an arrow to the heart of one of the twentieth century’s most influential men. I would like to think that Charles de Gaulle may have found in Anne an exhortation to stand up for what is right in the face of overwhelming public ignorance and cruelty. Perhaps, just perhaps, she helped to change the course of history."

The Secret

Did you ever wonder why so many people that adopt children with Down Syndrome already have a child, or two, with Down Syndrome? It is because we know the secret. Down Syndrome is beautiful and a joy.

If you want to read some beautiful stories and meet some amazing people. Check out some of the blogs of parents who have adopted children with Down Syndrome.

Brothers

These boys love each other. Max & Leo have taken the initiative to get John out of his crib every morning and carry him into the family room (even though John can walk himself). They also get him his cup of milk. When I come out of my room in the morning they are all cuddled up on the couch under a blanket watching Curious George. When John sees me, he leans forward Says "Hi!" while waving to me. My heart melts, I am so blessed.
